7/13/10
With many of the racing series' around the world taking a much needed weekend off, the racers here in the states headed to the Wolverine XC and the fifth round of the Parts Unlimited OMA Nationals held in Messick, Mich.
Scotty Watkins was the lone Moose Racing rider contesting the Pro Motorcycle class as his teammate, Jimmy Jarrett, was notably absent after being involved in a hit-and-run accident while training on his road bicycle earlier in the week. After spending a couple of nights in the hospital, Jarrett was released with no serious injuries but was sidelined for the weekend's event. Everyone at Moose Racing wishes Jimmy a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing him back on the start line soon.
Back on the racetrack, Watkins was on the gas and riding well as he placed his Kawasaki on the podium with a second place finish. Watkins has yet to finish off the podium in this year's OMA series and it is this consistent riding that has him in the points lead as the series crosses the half way point.
In Pro ATV action, Moose Racing had a dominating performance as team riders Brian Hulsey, John Pitts and Kyle Martin swept the podium for the second straight round. Just like Watkins, this trio of riders has shown impressive consistency throughout the first part of the series and has a stranglehold on the top three positions in the overall standings.
The second half of the series will kick off with the Spring Creek GP on July 31 - August 1, 2010 at the famed Spring Creek MX Park in Millville, Minn. The Moose Racing semi will be there to help start the second half of the season so be sure to stop by and enter for your chance win a trip to the 2010 Motocross of Nations.
